Parking

All our Wetland Centres exist to ful l founder Peter Scott’s vision of connecting people with nature, so we make it a principle that our wetlands and wildlife are accessible to everyone. The WWT originally purchased 6000 square metres of Ecoraster some 7 years ago. This is the red sharp angular stone infill that you see in the image. The surfacing covered the access road to the site and the original parking bays. All requiring to be part ‘m’ compliant and free draining.

In 2014, a further order was placed for some 2000 square metres of Ecoraster E40 to provide additional parking to this popular spot in Lancashire. The fill material used in this case was standard pea shingle.
